To answer the question, "About how much will this restoration cost?," the two tools below will to arrive at a close estimate.
Once a design STL is created, it can be loaded into an STL volume calculator. A link to the calculator is here. Copy or drag the STL file into the calculator.
To determine the cost, estimate the weight by multiplying the volume by the density of the alloy to get the estimated cost of the crown.
Follow this link and then the instructions below.
In the Density to Weight Calculator, using the dropdown arrows, select g/cm³ in the Density field.
Enter the density of the alloy you are choosing to mill. The densities are listed on our website and below for your convenience.
Alloy | Density |
SM20 | 10.8 |
SM55 | 13.6 |
PXN | 11.73 |
SMOG | 16.7 |
In the Volume field on the second site, select mm³ from the dropdown, and enter the volume given in the previous calculator.
The weight of the item should show up in the Weight field.
Call for current pricing of the alloy you are selecting, then simply multiply the alloy gram price by the answer from the second calculation.
