Designs with high success:

• Tapered axel walls, rounded, smooth chamfer.
• Rounded occlusal table - by definition for drill compensation.
• Design for anti-rotation of the crown.

 

Designs with low success and open to rejection:

• Avoid Cylinder shapes that allow rotation of the restoration.
• Avoid Vertical retention grooves. Instead, design with anti-rotation shapes.
• Avoid a Sharp shoulder above the margin or an angle on the margin.
• Eliminate Undercuts.
